Mongolian Gers Overlooking Camel Safari
An Experience Like No Other
Camp under starlit skies at Camel Safari. These authentic Mongolian Gers (yurts) are alongside a herd of more than 30 Bactrian and Dromedary camels and a variety of other exotic animals like Ambien the sloth and Thorn the porcupine. While staying at Camel Safari, you will receive a light dinner down by the fire overlooking a herd of camels. In the morning you will have the unique experience of our 8am Zookeeper Experience. You will be taken around the farm on our super cool Deuce and a half military cargo truck. The zookeeper experience provides the perfect opportunity for those who are interested in learning more about the camels, sloth, armadillo, porcupines and other animals that call Camel Safari home. We can’t wait to show you how we care for a wide variety of unique animals. Don’t miss your chance at this behind-the-scenes visit to Camel Safari.
We are approximately 75 minutes from downtown Las Vegas and an hour from St. George, Utah, situated between the picturesque Virgin River and the mesas of the Great Basin, sporting spectacular views of the Virgin Mountains.
Gers can accommodate 2, 3 or 4 guests comfortably, depending on which ger is rented. Up to 2 guests can be added to any ger with the addition of cots at an additional charge per night. To book multiple nights, you will need to make a separate booking for each night you wish to stay. Each ger has beds and authentic, hand-painted Mongolian furniture. The gers are wrapped in a thick felt, which helps to insulate them against cool night temperatures.
Things You Should Know
Please arrive for check-in between 3 PM and 5 PM on your first day. We do not accept check-ins later than 7 PM. If you arrive after 7 PM, the gate may be locked, preventing entry, and you will not be refunded. Check-out is at 11 AM on the day of your departure. Because we have other kinds of booked activities at the farm, we do ask that you depart from the farm by 11 AM to make room for other guests. Thank you for helping us keep our commitments to all guests by observing our check-in/check-out times closely!
Bring drinking water with you! The desert gets HOT, and the gers do not have running water. We do have bottle refill stations near the bathrooms, but
Our two bathrooms do not have showers, only toilets and sinks. Bathrooms are a 3-5 minute walk from the gers, so please be sure to plan accordingly!
The parking area is a 5-10 minute walk from the gers.
Please note that wifi is only available in the parking area, and does not reach the gers.
UNLESS YOU CHOSE THE GUEST PACKAGE ADD-ON, we do not provide any bedding, so please plan to bring your own to suit your needs. Note: the mattresses are a non-standard size.
No heat, air conditioning, or power is available in the gers. This is a camping experience! There is a power outlet by the bathrooms that can be used if needed.
Because this is a working farm with animals already on the property PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED. You will, however, be surrounded by a wide variety of animals during your visit with us!
Because this is a camping experience and you will be near to our animals, we have quiet hours that extend from 9PM – 7AM.
Food & Trash
If you bring food, please keep it enclosed in latched containers at all times. Trash must be put into trash receptacles immediately to avoid it blowing away in the wind or attracting animals.
Respect the Animals!
Please do not approach, call out to, or otherwise heckle the animals at any time. They appreciate your respect, and you are helping to keep their home safe and secure so they can get the rest they deserve!
